Shoes and Champagne!
I attended the most clever and unique networking event last night! It was given by my friend and networker extraudinaire Neen James who has come to the United States from Australia. She has been the manager of our local eWomen Network in Philadelphia.
This event was held in a local shoe store called “If The Shoe Fits” in Doylestown, PA. We met, caught up with old friends and met new friends, and networked all in the environment of a up scale shoe store. We had champagne and little snacks while we tried on and bought great shoes! The environment was so conducive to fun and friendships that even if a person didn’t like getting out and networking, this was fun and certainly of interest to all of us. I bought two pairs of shoes (on sale!) and ordered one other pair!
The reason I am bringing this up is that it is a great lesson in the area of business success. We don’t have to be stuck in the usual formal networking groups or Chambers. I am not saying there is anything wrong with those venues, especially if you enjoy them and they help you build your business. But if you don’t want to do the usual, then think of creative ways that you can marry the networking and your passion in the same way Neen did.
If you don’t want to network in the same old way, create a new way!

I love this idea! It’s such a fun and different take on the conference room or banquet hall meeting. And what a great night for the shoe store, too. I always get inspired when I see people coming up with creative and interesting alternatives to the same old (even if the same old is just fine).

Absolutely, it was really enjoyable! I want to begin to list some friends and associates and do something new; my dream is to have a great little get-together in my home, actually, with great snacks. Until then I may try something in a coffee shop.

Each of the size of the foot is different, we often don’t know oneself how shoes we should wear . But the most important thing is that we can wear comfortable, what do you think?
